Research

So here's the deal: we don't just want you to succeed, we want you to excel. The only way to excel in Economics is to really devote a great amount of time to the discipline. Although that may be naturally easily for some students, sometimes it helps to have a little direction, and that's where guided research comes into play.

The Department provides two specific research programs that are geared toward the curriculum. They are:

  • Economic Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (EUROP), a summer research where a student teams up with a particular member of faculty

  • Co-Research Program, a Fall Economic elective where students aid graduate students in research

If you are looking for something a little different from the above, don't be afraid to ask your professors. They will help you find something.

Dr. Catherine Eckel runs her own particular laboratory, the Economic Research Lab, and is constantly looking for undergraduate assistants and test subjects. If you would like to learn more about her work, click here.
